Giles & Amy’s Glam Echuca Wedding
When Giles proposed with a gorgeous art deco ring, he gave Amy all the inspiration she needed for their opulent botanical wedding. We reckon he picked the right sparkler! Photographer Tess Follet was behind the lens to capture all the classic style and elegance of this country Victoria affair.
The pair tied the knot in St Mary’s Catholic Cathedral in Echuca, after which guests walked to Radcliffe’s Restaurant where the party began. Both big nature lovers, but wary of the weather on the day, their venue’s living ceiling meant they had the perfect mix of indoors and outdoors. “I just absolutely love flowers and plants, and the venue has a stunning, living roof covered in green vines, so in order to not detract from that we kept all other decoration to a minimum and focused on the flowers.” Vibrant botanicals mixed in colour and opulence, which paired perfectly with the elegant art deco style of the day.
Amy shared a few tips that helped them craft a wedding that included all the important bits, while sticking to a budget. “The thing we learnt is if you don’t really care about something, take the cheapest option, because when it comes to the things you do care about you will find yourself wanting to spend more!” Living in the country town of Echuca, these guys tapped into all the creative vendors that their area had to offer. “Use local, especially if you are getting married in northern Victoria. Amazingly talented and lovely people made our wedding perfect.”
