Ash & Mark’s Handmade Wedding at Lyndoch on the Lake
Mark strikes us as a man who knows what he wants and doesn’t mess about. He was smitten with Ash from the moment they met and even followed her to Scotland on the back of just a couple of dates. One year on, he was down on one knee.
Ash had her heart set on an out outdoor wedding, and after a long search, found the perfect spot at Lyndoch on the Lake in Byron Bay. The couple DIY’d their hearts out in the lead up to the wedding and the day overflowed with handmade personal details. Ash got her craft on, creating vintage lace jars, wedding stationery, handmade signs and blackboards and restoring vintage props and furniture for the day. Mark got pretty handy with some fallen trees from his dad’s property, creating the timber ceremony arbour and beautiful log centrepieces for the reception. As avid craft beer brewers, the groom and his men made a special batch of ‘Groomsmen Ginger beer’ for the day, which by all accounts, went down a treat!
Looking gorgeous in Karen Willis Holmes, Ash complete her look with a crystal headpiece by Doloris Petunia and an heirloom diamond necklace, worn in her family by 4 generations of women on their wedding day.
Shane Shepherd was there to capture the day in his trademark soulful style, while videographer, Alex Ball, created their beautiful wedding film, which you can see at the end of this post.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again- there’s nothing more beautiful than incorporating natural wood into weddings, especially in table settings.
