Jess and Joe’s Tassie Vineyard Wedding
Jess and Joe fell for each other at the Falls Music Festival and if the alliterations aren’t proof they are perfect for each other, we don’t know what is! They married among the vines of Heriots Point Vineyard in a rustic ceremony one hot Tassie day, and Fiona Vail caught every heartfelt moment.
It’s no secret that Joe was emotional throughout the ceremony (bless him!) and we love a groom who wears his heart on his sleeve. And who could blame him for shedding a tear, with Jess glowing so brightly it hurt! In a strapless Sarah Seven number with a lace bodice and embellished belt, this bride couldn’t have looked more babin’ and her tousled hair and halo of baby’s breath topped it off.
Having recently passed away, her grandmother’s presence was greatly missed but her sapphire engagement and wedding rings served as a sentimental reminder, while simultaneously providing the something old, borrowed and blue. With beautiful bouquets in hand by Gay Flowers, Jess had the bride thing down pat.
Heriots Point hadn’t hosted many weddings before and gave Jess and Joe free reign for the day. “We were so lucky we had the freedom to make the venue whatever we wanted. We weren’t confined to certain spaces, colour schemes or dimensions.” Jess explains, although, with the blue of the Huon River, the lush vineyards and distant mountains, this perfect spot didn’t need much help in the looks department.
After the ceremony, guests climbed the hill to the marquee for some canapés and drinks, while Joe and Jess journeyed into the surrounding forest for some snaps. With pine needles underfoot and an earthy colour palette, Fiona Vail took some truly magical shots, and the newlyweds have nothing but praise for her, “I cannot recommend her more highly.” Says Jess, “She was an absolute delight to have at our day, took exquisite photographs and was loved by all our guests. She is so warm and relaxed and made us so comfortable.”
Halfway through speeches the summer night turned stormy but nothing could rain on this sweet pair’s parade. The change in weather actually served them well, cooling things down and creating quite a moody backdrop against the glistening festoon lights. If they’ve got one piece of advice for others planning a wedding, it’s to surround yourself with the right peeps, “Our Bridal Party are some of the most supportive and relaxed people I know.” Says Jess, “Choose people to share your day that are going to add to the positivity and enjoyment over those who might make it more stressful, no matter how much pressure you feel to include them.”
