A recurring piece of advice from newlyweds is to savour every moment. The wedding day passes in a flash, but Sharon and Chris are one couple who found a way to combat the wedding day rush. They decided to celebrate twice – first with a traditional Indian ceremony before heading to Footscray Amphitheatre then onto The Substation for a botanic-inspired celebration. Thanks to his skills behind the lens, Lakshal Perera scored an invitation to capture both!

Proposals come in all shapes and sizes and when it came to popping the question, Chris planned a surprise of epic proportions. Sharon awoke one morning to the ring of an old school Nokia, on the other end of which was Chris, informing her she had 30mins to prepare before a chauffeur would wiz her off on an adventure. How very James Bond! After visiting a number of meaningful locations for activities (first date spot, first movie watched together) Chris sealed the deal in the Dandenongs and Sharon was of course a sure-thing!

After being bound and blessed in their Hindu ceremony, Sharon and Chris tied the knot outdoors and Sharon tells us, “We wanted our ceremony to be a reflection of our relationship and although we had 180 guests, it felt so intimate.” Post-wedding the party continued at The Substation where Sharon (of Wedding Day PA fame) styled the lofty industrial space, while Botanics of Melbourne used foliage and flowers to transform it into a modern-day indoor forest.
