Climbing fences, traipsing around the bush and throwing bouquets (and grooms) in the air for the benefit of talented photographer Joshua Mikhaiel, Jaynell and Rob’s vibrant Sydney Polo Club wedding isn’t one we’ll be forgetting in a hurry.

The lovebirds spent nine months planning their special day, embarking on an impressive list of DIY projects. “We both love making things and working with our hands,” Jaynell tells us. “We made the arbour and the seating chart, hand painted the wedding signs, table numbers and the watercolour place cards and had Rob’s mum calligraphy guests’ names onto them.”

The reception was housed in an amazing barn on the property of the polo club and when the wedding guests took to the dance floor – costume change! Jaynell and Rob snuck away to change into their traditional Indian garb, a nod to Jaynell’s Indian roots, and returned to try out their best Bollywood moves. “The dancing was a lot of fun to watch,” Rob recalls. “The groomsmen had come up with a strange mix of what looked like Irish dancing, Indian dancing, chest bumping and moshing combined.”

Rob was man enough to shed a few tears as he saw his bride for the first time. “I was immediately overwhelmed with emotion as I thought to myself that this was the woman who I will be blessed to spend the rest of my life with.”

“I was absolutely in LOVE with my flowers,” Jaynell tells us. “ Hanako did the most amazing job of bringing to life exactly what I had envisioned but even better. Everything from the bridal bouquets, to my flower crown to my mum’s corsage – it was absolutely perfect!”

These lovebirds couldn’t be more delighted with their photos by Joshua Mikhaiel. “We have no words! He’s a magician with the camera every image just blows us away. He takes the simplest of moments and brings out the story behind it in such a beautiful way.”

“I loved killing it on the dance floor with my family after Rob and I had changed into our Indian outfits,” says Jaynell. “They’d travelled all the way from India to be there and it meant the world to me to be able to celebrate with them!”

Hello there,

I’m getting married around mid Journey, my partner and I both wanted a rastic wedding and there is no better place then the polo club we believe, we love everything we saw about the site/ the interior of the avenue and would like to book for inspection asap and also we would to have an idea about the price if it’s possible.

Best regards,

Ella
