When organising a trip to Queensland’s Tamborine Mountain, Laura had a bright idea – ‘why not elope on our holiday?’ 5 weeks later, she and Jake were sharing their vows with only their celebrant and photographer Aaron Shum to bare witness.

Having received a bunch of ceremony location suggestions from Aaron, consistent rain narrowed the possibilities. The gazebo at Tamborine Mountain Botanic Gardens provided shelter for the ‘I do’s’ but after that, Jake and Laura weren’t bothered by the weather. Making the most of the dramatic landscape, the pair proceeded to get thoroughly soaked, ultimately wrapping things up under a waterfall in a rock pool.

A simple celebration of champagne, dinner and a candlelit dance on the balcony ended Jake and Laura’s intimate day. With no friends or family present for their wedding, photos were hugely important and they couldn’t have been happier with Aaron’s moody frames.
