10. Lucy & Andrew’s Botanic Gardens Wedding by Lara Hotz

As one half of Sydney style lab, Cool Edies, Lucy’s address book is not short on talented industry pals. To help realise the epic vision of her wedding, she enlisted the help of some serious big-hitters, many of whom conveniently happen to be close friends.

Magnificent floral installations by Grandiflora adorned the Botanic Gardens’ Palm House, while Alice Storey (food editor at Gourmet Traveler) took care of their lavish spread, including a three-tiered wedding cake by none other than Donna Hay! The best in the business were required to capture a wedding of this magnitude, and Lara Hotz and Light Noise Films were natural choices.

9. Jayne & Cam’s Awesome Fitzroy Wedding by Oli Sansom

The dress, the pug, the hundreds of temporary tattoos, the bride’s surprise rendition of Gangsta’s Paradise, the party above the burger joint and the ceaseless grins of these two lovebirds – just some of the things you loved about Jayne & Cam’s big day.

Add to that a perfect summer’s day and badass photographer Oli Sansom, and it’s not hard to see why this wedding got your vote.

8. Louisa & Stephen’s Moroccan Festival Wedding by Luke Going

These high-school sweethearts transformed their family property into a Moroccan-inspired bohemia, with Bedouin tent, Marrakech lanterns and floating feathers aplenty. The pair embarked on a myriad of DIY projects to create their dream wedding on a tight budget, and close friend, Luke Going was there to capture every free-spirited moment.

We’re so glad you loved this one as much as we did – Lou’s boho Lover number was one of our favourite dresses of the year and that stunning king protea creation by A Sculptured Leaf was one of our top bouquets!

7. Ben & Justin’s Brighton Town Hall Wedding by Pierre Curry

These two met on the casting couch when Ben offered Justin a role in his short film. I know, glamorous much?!

After an elegantly relaxed ceremony in the gardens of Brighton Town Hall, photographer Pierre Curry thought it only fitting to celebrate the pair’s love of the performing arts with a portrait session in the hall’s theatre, capturing that gorgeous bird’s eye moment on its dramatic red carpet.

6. Travis & Kristy’s Zonzo Winery Wedding by Jonathan Ong

That spectacular antler-clad arbor by Clarence Flowers had our jaws agape, and as the 6th most-viewed wedding of the year, clearly you loved it too! Awash with vibrant blooms and colourful details, Travis and Kristy tied the knot at the picturesque Zonzo Winery in the Yarra Valley.

Jonathan Ong weaved his usual magic behind the lens, but the photogenic pair needed no help looking gorgeous. Kristy’s backless Johanna Johnson dress was total a showstopper, and Travis looked positively debonaire in a blue check blazer from Paul Smith.

5. Shaye & Ben’s 1000 Pound Bend Wedding by LJM Photography

It doesn’t get more Melbourne than an inner-city warehouse gallery, tucked away in the graffiti-riddled laneways of the CBD. Captured by LJM Photography, Shaye & Ben’s 1000 Pound Bend wedding was every bit the urban-industrial vibe the pair were chasing.

Shaye was a bombshell in her figure-loving Rachel Gilbert gown, Samantha Wills jewellery and stunning blooms by Pomp and Splendour. Offbeat celebrant, Jon von Goes ensured a smile on every face, while Blake’s Feast had everyone contentedly stuffed with an incredible spread.

4. Georgina & Josh’s Boomerang Farm Wedding by Finch & Oak

Styled by Lilywillow Designs and playfully captured by Finch & Oak, Georgina and Josh’s day was fun, fresh and fragrant – a vibrant, bloom-filled wedding, bursting with colour.

Their Boomerang Farm wedding overflowed with gorgeous details, like those lovely Woodland Press invitations, floral creations by Elyssium Blooms, glitter table runners, giant colour balloons and that ever-so indulgent cake table.

3. Danielle and Luke’s Kumeu Valley Wedding by Danelle Bohane

Donning both ‘stylist’ and ‘florist’ caps for the day, this DIY bride put her hand to nearly every element of her big day. With its dramatic landscape, adorable chapel and cosy barn, Danielle and Luke’s Kumeu Valley wedding was captured in characteristically rich, vintage tones by Danelle Bohane.

Danielle worked closely with bridal designer John Zimmermann to create that gorgeous ivory lace gown with the prettiest pearl capped sleeves. Her grandmother’s cream fur kept off the Aukland chill and her bridesmaids looked lovely in mismatching dresses in soft feminine colours with that little bit of sparkle.

2. Carly & Aaron’s 60s-inspired Wedding by Dan O’Day

Discovering they were pregnant a day after getting engaged, Carly & Aaron welcomed the challenge of creating their dream day in a mere 2 months! They styled their Kirra Hill Community Centre wedding with a hefty dose of retro, with the brilliant Dan O’Day behind the lens.

Beyond Carly’s gorgeous baby bump, there was so much to love about this wedding. Emerald bridesmaid dresses and gorgeous floral creations by Elyssium Blooms set the vibrant tone for the day, and we love Aaron’s eclectic retro look (in fact, he made our top grooms list). But most of all, this joyous couple quite simply stole our hearts.

1. Josh & Kate’s Substation Wedding by Samm Blake

Drumroll please… Coming in at number 1 is Josh & Kate’s stunning Substation wedding by Samm Blake! With that incredible venue, stunning vintage gown and one of the best in the business behind the lens, we’re not surprised this jaw-dropping wedding scored top spot.

The couple wanted a personal wedding that would be tonnes of fun without breaking the bank, so opted to get their hands dirty with plenty of DIY. Those gorgeous tassel streamers were painstakingly made by hand and were one of our favourite DIY details of the year.
