Ultra Violet – the Pantone colour of the year was the initial inspiration behind this styled shoot by Clare & Fleur Events and Akaness Sharks, which celebrates the ritual of a bride getting ready for her big day.
Clare Pixton of Clare & Fleur explains, “I wanted to capture the anticipation and joy of preparing for a wedding or special occasion, for it’s these nostalgic moments that often get lost in the whirlwind of things to do on the morning of a big day. Isn’t the anticipation just as wondrous as the event itself?!”
Wanting to showcase a more subtle, pastel version of the Ultra Violet shade, Clare created a tablescape and florals in dusty pink and violet tones with pops of dark purple, complemented by greenery from Pop up Gardens.
Each of the bride’s outfits is romantic with a modern twist – first, a beaded top by White Meadow Bridal paired with a violet tulle skirt from Asos as she reads a love note penned by her groom-to-be, followed by a mauve lace dress also from Asos as she delights in her garden-inspired freestanding floral arrangements abundant with branches of olive, garden roses, scabiosa, foxglove, dried ferns, and smokebush. And finally, a stunning bridal gown by White Meadow featuring delicate lace and a sheer polka dot neckline, with hair and makeup by Billie Makeup.
If you’re thinking about drawing inspiration from Pantone’s colour of the year for your own event, Clare advises, “Using softer palette variations is a gorgeously dreamy way to incorporate Ultra Violet into your event concept.”
