After working together for seven years, planning their rock star wedding was just another day in the office for artists/photographers/creatives, Kashka and Kennie. Tess Follett was behind the lens for their bold and glittering affair amongst the greenery of Melbourne’s Glasshaus.

Working with celebrant Jessie Belle, the couple crafted a ceremony that reflected their personalities and was fun for everyone. “We had so much fun writing and working alongside Jessie that the ceremony went from the part which I was pretty nervous about, to the part I was most excited about” shares Kashka. Their unique ‘I do’s’ included a sing-along to ‘champagne supernova’, prompt cards so that all their guests could pronounce them husband and wife, and stitching up a mate so he thought he was supposed to have written a speech.

Wanting a venue where they could bring in their own drinks, food and entertainment, Melbourne nursery, Glasshaus, turned out to be the perfect fit. The couple infused the space with their own style, and created a disco jungle party in the process. “We were surrounded by the most beautiful jungle plants with two long tables laid with disco balls, candle lights and a silver animal figurine for each guest.”  Happy Camper served up antipastos, pizzas and even the odd dessert pizza, and the guys at Liquid Infusion kept the espresso martinis coming. Glitter makeup artist Shine-Culture had guests shimmering on the dance floor.

With a die-hard love for patterns and co-ordinates, there was no doubt Kennie would be wearing one on the day. He sourced his floral suit from Asos, which he paired with a Jack London shirt and Grenson London shoes.

Kennie had known from the start that Kashka would want to commission a ring, so proposed with a black diamond and his great grandmother’s ring. Jeweller Kim Victoria handcrafted three unique rings for the couple that reflected their artistic style.

The ceremony was a highlight for Kashka and Kennie, and they put it down to their celebrant, Jessie Belle. "She was everything! She’s a pocket rocket of love and creativity. She blew everyone away and created a ceremony that was so unique and perfect for us, we had sing alongs, stitching up a mate and many laughs. She's absolutely gorgeous and we highly recommend this gorgeous lady."

Kashka had to get creative to bring her perfect wedding dress to life. “I love gold shiny things (my mum has always called me magpie) What I had in my head didn't exist anywhere so I was put in contact with the incredible talented and beautiful soul Giselle from Livrie Couture. I gave her my concept of a 1950s Dior skirt, two piece and clusters of gold sequins, and she literally brought my dream to life!”

Photographers themselves, Kennie and Kashka knew just what to look for and chose the talented Tess Follett to document their day. They tell us “she has such incredible energy and warmth, she truly captured the magical day.”
