Olga & Andrew’s Vintage Melbourne Wedding

Graphic designers, Olga & Andrew share a mutual love of their city and their vintage wedding paid homage to Melbourne new and old. The ceremony and reception took place at Tuscan Bar, which was chosen for its grand space and vintage furnishings. The day was planned and styled by Lettuce & Co, who Olga tells me are ‘absolute masters’ and helped the couple create their dream day, whist adhering dutifully to their budget.

The wedding combined traditional elements with Olga and Andrew’s personal styles. The space was styled with gorgeous flowers by Pomp & Splendour and an array of vintage vases and custom signs, designed by the couple. An antique writing desk was used for the signing and also housed the couple’s guest book – a collection of old Melbourne post cards. Individual potted succulents were given as favours, each tied with thank you cards in Greek and English.

With Olga’s Greek background (and discerning 72 year old mamma), food was a top priority, and Tuscan didn’t disappoint. A variety of canapés was served, along with authentic Italian mixed platters and of course, lots of antipasto. The wedding party danced off their feast to a mix of traditional Greek and dance music.

Olga looked stunning in the Emme dress by Grace Loves Lace with a traditional veil by Le Chateau Blanc. She wore her hair in long waves, styled by her mamma, who has a private salon tucked away in her home.

Anthony from Circularink captured the day and the couple couldn’t be happier with their choice, “Anthony was amazing, very easy-going and very talented! He put together an amazing story of the whole day from start to finish.”

Some words of wisdom from Olga

I never really wanted to do the Big Fat Greek Wedding or a Wedding at all! Eloping was always something I thought I’d do. But, now that we have, it truly was the best day of our lives. I know I’ve harped on about them a bit, but we honestly couldn’t have done it without the help of Lettuce & Co. The girls just got us, our style and were more than accommodating in every aspect.

My advice is employing an event coordinator/stylist to help plan your day. It really is worth having someone who knows what to do, and how to resource props and to make everything beautiful, memorable and inexpensive! It’s completely worth the investment!! Don’t stress. Everyone is there to have a good time and it goes too fast to waste energy on worrying.
