Captured by Perth fashion photographer, Jarrad Seng, Evan and Trent’s warehouse wedding was a celebration of a shared love of travel and the ongoing adventure of their lives together.
Playing out at Fremantle’s B Shed, the pair decked out the industrial setting with a collection of travel-inspired wares. As a theatrical lighting and set designer, Trent is no stranger to creating big impact in lofty spaces. He tells us “we made or found all of the decorations ourselves; parachutes, origami hot air balloons, bunting with sunsets, suitcases, fishing nets, vintage travel-themed paintings, and candle jars wrapped in prints of the cities we’ve travelled to together.”
Wanting to be “cohesive but not exact matches,” the dapper grooms wore beautifully detailed matching suits from Ted Baker, mixing it up with different shirts, waistcoats and accessories. Their groommaids were given some direction on colour palette, while handmade matching bouquets tied the whole picture together.
Trent tells us “We walked down the aisles with each of our fathers, who gave us away to the Startrek Voyager theme, played by our string quartet.” Tying in with the travel theme, guests were asked to fold their programs into paper planes to throw when the two were declared husband and husband.
A feast of ‘Flavours of the World’ followed, with Evan and Trent’s ‘Best of Perth’ foodie favourites. The banquet included curries from Jolly Good Indian, pies from Peter’s Butchery, sliders from Jus Burgers, satay sticks from Goreng2, rice paper rolls from The Red Chair and Mexican ice-creams from La Paleta. No supirse, there was far too much food! Fortunately these boys had the foresight to provide funky takeaway boxes for guests to claim the leftovers.
Between the feasting and the partying, the newlyweds stole away for some sunset snaps, with the spectacular Leeuwin II as their backdrop. “Jarrad Seng is such an artist,” say Evan and Trent. “We’re eternally grateful to him for capturing so many incredible moments.”
