What happens when the muso marries the craft princess? A fairytale-esque DIY wonderland of vintage lace and pretty pastels… which is just a little bit rock n’ roll. Nichola and John’s Woodbridge House wedding was a fun, relaxed affair, filled with handmade personal touches, amazing food and of course, great music.
Nichola (who actually looks like a Disney princess) wore a soft tulle champagne gown, paired with the most incredible ‘Pink Ice Cream Cone’ shoes by Melissa & Karl Lagerfeld. Her bridesmaids (three girls and a guy) chose their own vintage party outfits in their favourite pastel shades. Nichola’s mum crafted her bouquet from vintage brooches, while the bridesmaids carried flowering kale and baby’s breath.
An old schoolmate of John’s (now a brewer for Boneyard) crafted and bottled two types of beer especially for the day. One of the groomsmen designed the labels, each featuring one half of the happy couple. Needless to say, they were a hit!
Nichola admits that she and John aren’t particularly comfortable in front of the camera, and chose Nectarine Photography for Loren’s natural style. “She is so easy going and down to earth, she made us feel instantly comfortable. Her photos are amazing, they really captured the feel of the day.”
