Naturally drawn to all the warm and toasty things that go hand-in-hand with wintery days, Jesse and Leisa’s wedding had all their favourite elements of colder months of the year. With hearts set on photographer Lauren Campbell since day dot, they even planned the date around her availability, and these gorgeous snaps have us every bit as smitten.
Nestled in the Southern Highlands of NSW, Jesse and Leisa knew Mali Brae Farm was perfect for their day as soon as they saw it. With multiple fireplaces and rustic country charm, it ticked all their boxes for a snug winter wedding. “The food also lent itself to that ‘Sunday roast with the family’ type vibe which we thought really brought the whole experience together.” Contrasting with the wild and windy weather outside, the warm and softly lit setting was ideal for celebrating with friends and family.
Floral visionary Claire of Fleur & Threads, worked her magic on the venue, styling rich reds, deep greens and warm golds to give the space an indulgent and festive feel. An abundance of velvety roses in berry tones added texture and opulence to the space. “I barely gave her any direction and walking into my wedding day I was just so overwhelmed with her pure artistry!”
On hair and makeup duty, Gemma Nichols and her team had Leisa and her girls looking stunning. “Because I had such a huge bridal party, an organised make up team was super important to me! These guys made me feel so at ease on the morning of the wedding and made us all look fantastic!”
Leisa wasn't interested in a traditional white wedding dress, and instantly fell in love with a long sleeved floral gown by James Coviello that she purchased through BHLDN. Elevating her look, she turned to Viktoria Novak for her dazzling head piece. “I wanted something for my hair that would take my look from formal to bridal, and she totally nailed it."
Creating a bouquet to complement Leisa’s floral James Coviello dress was no mean feat, but Clare of Fleur & Threads was definitely up to the challenge. We can't get enough of that warm, subtle palette.
Jesse and Leisa reckon they found the perfect celebrant in Todd Mayhew. “Everyone thought Todd was an old friend of ours because of how comfortable our ceremony seemed. He was absolutely fantastic and made us so chilled out during what is a pretty daunting moment.”
These guys were beyond chuffed with their photographer, Lauren Campbell. “She was an absolute dream. If I had any advice for anyone getting married it would definitely be to place a high value on your decision of photographer. Because of how much care we put into this decision we now have the most perfect memory of the day and we'll cherish our images forever.”
As self-proclaimed foodies, the venue’s exclusive caterers Violets & Vinegar sealed the decision to have Mali Brae Farm as their venue. “They have an incredible reputation in the industry and it's easy to see why. It's the ideal wedding food - rustic, home style plates to share using the best quality Australian produce.”
