Teagan and Luke were working in a Melbourne pharmacy when they first crossed paths and it didn’t take long to realise they were both suffering a little affliction for which there’s no prescription – love! (Sorry.) The pair were a casual 65-floors above Manhattan when Luke proposed and they tied the knot, destination-style, in the gardens of a Balinese villa.

Bali-based globetrotting photographers, Terralogical captured the tropical affair and Teagan and Luke recruited Global Weddings to coordinate the day. Surrounded by palms and fragrant frangipani trees, the pair said I do under a bamboo arch just outside their villa, with lush white roses and ivy overhead (courtesy of Bali Weddings Florence).

According to Teagan, walking down the aisle was a highlight – “This unbelievable excited, calm, emotional and out-of-body feeling came over me. Walking towards Luke was one of my favourite moments, the world around me faded away, all I could see was him and nothing else in the world mattered. We were both so present in that moment – it was such a powerful experience.”

In true island fashion, there was a tropical downpour the night before the wedding – not ideal – but their Canngu venue had a solution – “Being the magical, spiritual place it is, they offered us a local Rain Man,” says Teagan, “who worked throughout the entire day, moving from temple to temple surrounding the four corners of the villa, praying and dancing the rain away. He kept the rain away for the entire night, allowing us to eat, drink and dance under the stars!”

Although Andrea Gorrie is responsible for the handiwork, this talented bride takes a little bit of the credit for the original sketches of her incredible lace gown. “I took inspiration from several dresses I loved, but weren’t perfect.” Teagan tells us. "I spent hours with Andrea working on the finer details and she worked with all of my big dreams, including detachable sleeves!”

With teams in both Melbourne and Bali, Global Weddings had all of the inside info on Bali plus a network of Balinese suppliers, making it easy for Teagan and Luke to plan their wedding from afar.

Bridesmaid dresses can be a struggle, but Teagan took the stress out of it by letting the gals choose their own. “I loved doing it this way because each of the girls are different and I wanted them to wear something they adored and would wear again.” She tells us.

Bali Catering Company certainly satisfied with the family-style spread and Teagan tells us all the mouth-watering details, “We ate traditional Balinese dishes served family-style along the tables, the chatter was loud and with an open bar, the cocktails were flowing! We served our favourite cocktails, lychee martini, passionfruit mojitos and zesty lime margheritas.” We’ll drink to that!
