For a perfect example of going with your gut, look no further than Erin and Shaun’s big day. After struggling to find a venue, the couple panic-booked a joint in Geelong, but soon realised that only a Melbourne wedding would do. They opted to forego their deposit and booked trendy Collingwood venue Rupert on Rupert instead. Full of industrial vibes, bright blooms and creative local vendors, their vibrant day was photographed by Miranda Stokkel.

When the team at Rupert on Rupert suggested Erin and Shaun use a raised stage for their short and sweet ceremony, the couple were initially a tad nervous. But celebrant Anthony Cribbes ensured the couple were more than prepared, and Erin and Shaun’s 120 guests had no trouble witnessing their elevated and heartfelt vows, complete with those stunning Georgia Powell florals!

The pair opted for a cocktail-style reception, and Rupert provided plenty of roaming eats and ample tipple, before guests enjoyed vanilla and American buttercream cake from Nan’s Cake Lab.

The dance floor action kicked off with a  first dance choreographed by Next Step Co. And while Erin tells us Shaun wasn’t initially up for the dancing lessons, she says he actually ended up enjoying it! “It was nice to do something together in those last few hectic weeks!” She shares.

Erin and Shaun offer some interesting advice when it comes to choosing your A-team. “Go with vendors who are starting out, or who work for themselves – it’s always good to give people a leg up”. We couldn’t agree more! Erin’s full tulle skirt was designed by Sweet Caroline Styles, and she took a chance on a local tailor for a matching top. Erin also raved about her freelance hairstylist, Jasmine Kara, and the couple were stoked with vinyl DJs, Mick and Maddie!
