Rosie & Luke’s Intimate Camping Wedding
We’re not into playing favourites with wedding photographers, but if we were, Briars Atlas would be pretty damn high on the list. When we received this sublime submission from Oli, we were doubly thrilled to discover it was the wedding of fellow talented lensman, Luke Going and his lovely missus, Rosie! For the icing on the cake, it’s a breathtakingly beautiful camping wedding in Queensland’s Main Range National Park.
Luke and Rosie have been close friends since high school, though their relationship started in earnest years later. Rosie admits they weren’t originally sold on the idea marriage, but seeing the amazing weddings Luke was shooting made the couple realise there were no hard and fast rules when it came to tying the knot; they could do it entirely their own way. For Rosie and Luke, that meant an indulgent weekend of glamping at Spicers Canopy with 20 of their nearest and dearest.
Rosie tells me “Part of the reason we chose Spicers was because we wanted to keep the wedding really small. We were ruthless and even invited some friends without their partners!” The luxury camping resort was the perfect fit for their needs; a spectacular location, caring staff, beautiful food and (best of all) no curfew. The wedding crew, teeny though it was, partied like the best of ‘em and danced til the wee hours before retiring to their lavish tents. We imagine a hangover is a lot easier to deal with when you wake up to that view!
In keeping with the relaxed theme of the wedding weekend, Rosie chose a gorgeous Anna Campbell dress with lace mesh detail, and wore her hair in a loose braid with a flower crown by Ginger Lily & Rose.
