Christchurch cuties Angella and Kevin tied the knot in a sweet and intimate ceremony at Stromboli Olives, complete with self-styled tipi and a beautiful garden backdrop. Paul Tatterson captured the relaxed affair and we can’t help but smile – this grinning pair’s happiness is contagious!
“There was no real theme to the wedding,” Angella tells us. “Our main focus was to keep it simple and not too overdone, but at the same time have an airy, lovely and laid back vibe.” Channeling this atmosphere was easy with a summer wedding and we were impressed to learn that this creative couple DIY’d all of their styling and even designed their invitations, signage and favours.
Mrs Bottomley’s Flowers were responsible for the scattered wildflower table arrangements and bouquets, that worked perfectly with the calico tipi (supplied by Kiwitipis). Contemporary music outfit, Kitchen Collective kept Angella, Kevin and their guests entertained and on their feet well into the night, and that’s always the sign of a good party in our books!
The happy couple had their hearts set on a tipi from the start, so they needed to find a spot that had enough space for their setup. “We found Stromboli Olives while searching for small farms and wineries and we felt it was perfect when we visited the venue.”
Angella made a magical bride in the stunning, fits-like-a-glove Inca gown by Grace Loves Lace. With textured waves and smokey eyes, we're loving her ethereal-boho vibe. Did we mention this DIY bride did her own hair and makeup?
All-in-white, Angela's bridesmaids fit the ethereal vibe perfectly in mismatched dresses from Etsy. Daisy bouquets completed their free-spirited look.
Kevin was dressed by Witchery Man and we have to say, he and his top knot make for one very stylish groom!
Having family in the hospitality industry is always a plus, but especially when you need catering for your wedding! With Angella’s parent’s Japanese restaurant Ace Wasabi and Kevin’s mum's cafe Gentle Giant on board, the buffet-style spread was reported to be delicious. Perhaps a little too delicious - they actually ran out of food!
