Lucy & Andrew’s Botanic Gardens Wedding

April 6, 2014
Lucy and Andrew’s Botanic Gardens wedding was a day of contrasting themes; Parisian lux meets Hollywood glitz, casual garden party meets fairytale love story.
As one half of Sydney style lab, Cool Edies, Lucy had many talented industry friends with whom to entrust the task of realising her vision. The wedding ceremony took place in Palm House – Australia’s oldest greenhouse, within Sydney’s Royal Botanic Gardens. Lining the aisle and hung from the eaves were magnificent floral creations by Lucy’s close friend, Saskia from Grandiflora. Lucy’s business partner, Jane Frosh, pulled the day together, styling both the ceremony and reception in a casual opulence that would define the day.
Food was a top priority for both Lucy and Andrew and their cocktail party reception in the garden’s Lion Gate Lodge was something of a foodie’s paradise. Catered by Alice Storey (food editor at Gourmet Traveler) their lavish spread featured an array of delicious canapés, as well as signature cocktails and artisan pops. For dessert, their three-tiered wedding cake was created by none other than Donna Hay herself!
In keeping with the varied themes of the day, Lucy, of course, had two dresses. The first – her ceremony “princess bride” gown – was a soft tulle affair in romantic hues of blush pink and apricot. The second – her party dress – was a slinky, sexy, gold sequinned confetti bomb! She matched both of these with a dangerous pair of Christian Louboutin stilettos and a Jonathan Howard hairpiece. Andrew, meanwhile, looked very dapper in a Burberry suit, skinny black tie and black patent brogues.
The couple’s epic vision required the best in the business to pull the whole thing off. Lara Hotz and Light Noise Films were natural choices to capture their sensational day. (You can see more of Lara’s handiwork here and here)

Sorry to be picky, but it’s “Botanic” not “Botanical” Gardens
