We had a blast at Wedding Upmarket in Perth on Saturday! Playing out in the gorgeous grounds of UWA, the boutique bridal fair brought together some of the best in the west for a day of inspiration, live music, beautiful food and a glass or two of bubbles in the Nouba lounge.
Exhibitors ranged from florists, to venues, bridal designers, caterers, hire and stylists… the list goes on. Event founder, Justine Barsley, tells us “We seem to attract vendors that can think outside the box, are friendly with other creatives and know there is enough business to go around. Many of them have become friends and good referrers to each others businesses.” For details of all vendors involved, check out the 2019 Exhibitor’s Directory.
Despite a few early downpours, the place was buzzing with curious couples from open to close. Overheard was one groom saying “We’ve just found all those things here that we’ve been talking about” which just about sums it up.
Tipi and Sperry tents on the lawn gave the day a fun festival vibe. Villa Kula, Samphire Catering and TP & Co created a beautiful space that looked right at home against tropical grove at UWA. Hourly fashion pop ups were hosted by James from The Wedding Host and Shannon Fleming Celebrant and showcased the creative efforts of designers, florists and hair and make up artists.
Over at the Nouba lounge, Flights of Fancy worked her magic styling a cosy corner where couples could take a load off (on emerald velvet couches from M Event Hire) and digest all that inspiration (not to mention awesome food from catering stalls!) We chatted with a bunch of you over a glass of bubbles, served by Ultimo Catering. Rose + Bud’s dramatic floral installations of dried palms and toffee roses were a big talking point, as was our giveaway to win a gorgeous wedding cake by Posh Little Cakes (you can still enter here!)
