‘Spoken’ Giveaway

Spoken is a unique offering of contemporary typographic designs crafted from elegantly carved plywood boards. The brand has recently introduced the (be)Spoken range, which can be personalised to feature a couple’s names and wedding date, and makes a beautiful ceremony or reception prop. And the best bit? We have 3 to give away!

Headed by design enthusiast Kati Williams, the idea for Spoken was one of those ‘happy accidents’. Kati’s partner is a furniture designer and one day the two of them were trialling some new equipment in their Noosa Heads workshop. “We were testing carving text into wood and realised it looked quite interesting and unique.” Kati got experimenting and was delighted with the results. “Because plywood is essentially thin layers joined together, the bolder the font, the deeper into the plywood it carves, which creates a really beautiful effect.” I have to say I agree, the bolder Ampersand and XO designs look beautiful with the many layers of plywood clearly visible.

Spoken boards were originally sold as gifts, but after receiving several enquiries from brides for customised boards, Kati released the (be)Spoken range. There are 6 designs within this collection, all of which can be personalised to feature your names and wedding date. The boards are 39cm x 56cm and Kati tells me couples are using these as props at ceremony entrances and on gift and dessert tables. Ultimately of course, they become an elegant keepsake of your big day.

To win one of 3 personalised (be)Spoken boards (valued at $150), simply comment on this post and be sure to follow Nouba’s Facebook page, as the 3 lucky winners will be announced there on June 10. Due to freight costs, entry is within Australia only.

In the meantime, be sure to check out the beautiful Spoken online store. You can also find Kati and her Spoken designs at the Eumundi Markets every Wednesday and Saturday.

Absolutely love this. So simple and classy. It’s so fun to think that for one day, our two names get to be on everything, with an ‘and’ between them… would love something like this at my wedding next year!

I’m not big on personalised wedding props but I love these! Very stylish and understated, will definitely keep an eye out for Spoken on our next trip to Eumundi, nicely done Kati.

What an amazing and beautiful idea! ( now why didn’t I think of that!) I have been incredibly stumped trying to find an appropriate gift for my brother and sister in law who are getting married after 12 years and 2 children together. This would be unique and so incredibly special.
