A not so traditional proposal called for a not so traditional wedding for these WA lovebirds who eloped at Rebel Rebel. After coming across the new event space and their Valentine’s Day special, bride-to-be Bridget suggested to John they get married – and the rest, as they say, was history. The result was an intimate, Vegas style wedding under Cupid’s watchful eye, shared with their beautiful baby boy Mac. Ceremony and Wedding Elopement Space

With Rebel Rebel already having its Vegas meets Northbridge flair, Bridget says the ceremony was mostly taken care of. “The space was designed so well that we didn’t need to add anything else to the day to make it special, the girls are Rebel Rebel took care of it all,” shares Bridget. The short and sweet ceremony was faultless for Bridget and John, thanks to their Celebrant Tina Buri (also dubbed an absolute legend). “She really summed us up as a couple and made our little ceremony intimate and personalised to us,” remembers Bridget.

Modern Bridal Outfit

Going for a fun and relaxed feel, Bridget’s top and pant combo from Dissh fit just right with the lowkey nature of the day. “Being a very non-traditional wedding, I wasn’t too bothered about being in a white gown, instead going with a creamy linen colour,” Bridget shares. “It was also a 40-degree day so I’m so glad I chose something light and breathable.” Paired with gorgeous cascading blooms by Bridget herself (aka owner of Scott St. Design Studio), these were the perfect touch of glam.

Their photographer Kitty Loves Love (also part owner of Rebel Rebel), was a gem to work with according to the couple, who felt like they’d known her forever. “Even though we only met Kitty on the day, she was so warm and welcoming,” Bridget explains. “Both John and I are a bit awkward in front of a camera, but Kitty made us feel at ease. We also love how much she featured our little boy in the day, photos that we will cherish forever.”

Advice for Couples Wanting to Elope

When asked if they had any advice for Nouba readers, the couple tells us not to fret about pleasing others on your special day. “The day is about you and your partner and your love for one another,” begins Bridget. “If throwing a big party is your vibe, go for it, but don’t do anything because someone else expects you to. People may have been offended that they weren’t involved in our wedding day, but at the end of it all John and I shared a special day that celebrated us as a couple.”
