Max & Gabby’s Guildford Garden Wedding
Sometimes a smooth pick-up move does work… The day was Australia Day 2013 and the venue Rosemount Hotel in North Perth. As Mumford and Sons played, Max beckoned to Gabby from the dance floor. “Yes he really did pull this move and yes I really did fall for it,” recalls Gabby. “After some encouragement from my friends I got up and proceeded to dance the night away. We haven’t stopped since!”
Just under 3 years later the couple were standing before their family and friends saying “I do” in the garden of Guildford’s Rose & Crown Hotel, with Natalija Brunovs of We Are All Stardust on hand to capture it all.
Not only is Max a master at the pick-up but it turns out he’s also pretty good at proposals. Celebrating their one year anniversary, he presented Gabby with a leather journal containing photographs of good times they’d shared since they met. Flicking through the pages, she finally came to photographs of Max sitting at the table holding a ring box containing a Burger Ring. “As the significance of this dawned on me I turned to find Max on one knee holding the very same ring box, and with a big grin on his face said, “Don’t worry baby, I got you a real one!”
Gabby and Max wanted their wedding to be magical and lots of fun. They enlisted a talented team of Perth vendors including Heart Strings Hire and Style, Edison Events and The Green Door Florist to create an intimate garden ceremony followed by a relaxed cocktail reception in the White Barn at the historic Rose & Crown. And of course the night ended where it had all started for these two – on the dance floor!
