When looking for a relaxed venue with a tropical vibe, it’s hard to beat Shady Palms on the Central Coast of NSW. This hot spot offers great music, cocktails, and a chill party atmosphere, making it the perfect choice for a couple looking to have a super relaxed reception or elopement. As soon as we saw the massive sailor jerry mural on the wall, we knew it was the ideal inspiration for the shoot.

Creating a Palette and Vibe Inspired by Sailor Jerry

The sailor jerry liquor itself is a bronze rust colour, and the colour palette was featured throughout the shoot in the groom’s jacket, glassware, florals, and even the epic engagement ring. The talented team of creatives also incorporated nude and pink tones from the hula girl logo in the signage, cake, and florals. And, of course, there were stand-out bursts of red featured in the table settings and bouquet that sealed the sailor jerry deal. They also used textural elements in the table setup and floral styling, including aged palm fronds, seed pods, and fresh blush and red roses. Maracas, textured placemats and plates, linen napkins, and super matte stationery gave an organic feel, contrasted with gold finishings for a more elegant vibe.

Capturing Intimacy and Playfulness

When it comes to the overall atmosphere, this styled shoot gives off the vibe that any couple would be dancing on tables by the night’s end! The caddy added to the playful elopement vibe, and the bride’s makeup style played up the warm, bronze tones featured throughout the shoot. With textured, relaxed hair and plenty of accessories like the fringe veil and sleeves, the bride’s look emphasised movement and fun throughout the images.
