Yennie & Quynh’s Mount Macedon Winery Wedding
After spending more time hanging out together than attending their uni lectures, it was only a few tequila shots needed to lower Yennie and Quynh’s inhibitions enough to share a first kiss. And they have been inseparable since! No dutch courage was required to walk the aisle – the tequila shots were purely for fun at their love-filled Mount Macedon Winery wedding, captured by Lakshal Perera.
If there was a prize for cutest engagement story, Yennie and Quynh would have it in the bag. In the lead up to their anniversary weekend away, they played mind games with each other trying to work out who was going to propose first. Janai Jewellery ended up out-scheming them, providing them each with rings on the same day but at different times, while keeping it secret from both! Quynh shares the rest of the story, “I was sure that Yennie would not have my ring ready yet (she was very convincing), so I had booked a surprise trip to Byron Bay to propose to her a couple weeks after our anniversary. But the morning after our lovely dinner at Brae in Birregura and bang on our 8 year anniversary, whilst I was still in my pyjamas, Yennie popped the question with a coffee and flower in hand. She beat me to it! I couldn’t help but propose back that evening and we still went Byron Bay to celebrate our engagement.”
Going for a light and relaxed feel for their wedding, they kept the styling simple and natural (with a touch of rainbow), which complemented the gorgeous vineyard setting of Mount Macedon Winery. They said their vows in a ceremony officiated by the lovely Annie the Celebrant, in the Winery’s garden under an arbour adorned with blooms and eucalyptus by Bellewood Flowers. The rest of the day was spent catching up with loved ones over a share style feast by Monsieur Pierre, good wine, and of course… shots!
