Loz & Shane’s Byron Bay Love Fiesta
Just because you eloped and Elvis married you in Vegas doesn’t mean you don’t deserve a celebration with your friends and fam back home. Byron Bay couple, Loz and Shane decided to keep the good times rolling with a mock-ceremony on a gorgeous lakeside jetty at the Island Quarry, with Bonnie Jenkins on hand to capture the fun.
When it came to choosing their venues, Loz and Shane were diplomatic but sentimental – “As we were already legally married we didn’t want to go too overboard on the expenses, so the places we chose suited our budget but they also held a lot of meaning and memories, which was important.” Post-ceremony they headed for Italian at the Pacific where espresso martinis and plenty of dancing ensued.
A hybrid of themes resulted in a ‘bohemian, crystal infused, summery love fiesta’ – as described by the bride and she wasn’t exaggerating on the fiesta part! “Our favourite part of the day was walking into the reception with our favourite Violent Soho song absolutely blaring.” Loz shares.
“As we walked in, all of our friends started jumping and dancing and cheering and the whole place erupted into a huge moshpit. They put Shane and me on their shoulders and people got on tables to dance – it was the most hilarious and over the top entrance and it totally set the theme for the rest of the wild night!”
