Kate & Ryan’s DIY Beach Wedding
In their element near the ocean, a beach wedding was a no-brainer for central coast couple Kate and Ryan, who chose to hold their ceremony on the shore at Killcare Beach, a favourite spot of theirs. Jason Corroto captured the relaxed affair and this creative pair were more than happy to get their hands dirty, DIY style.
“We wanted to make the ceremony very casual,” shares Kate, “so we said our own vows and included our dog, Tyson in the ceremony.” They crafted a driftwood arbour and Kate’s mum showed off her floristry prowess, adorning it in an incredible tropical foliage arrangement. Superstar mum also styled the reception space at Horizons Killcare, pulling together a gorgeous backdrop of lush greenery, fairy lights and draped fabric.
Horizons was perfectly located by the beach so guests didn’t need to travel far post-ceremony. If Kate and Ryan could give one piece of advice to others tying the knot, it’d be to steal away together to really savour the day. “Make sure you get a moment to spend just with your love, so you can look around and remember the moment and all the people who love you.”
