Exposed Edge Styled Shoot
If cool tones and an unconventional style is your taste, you will love this styled shoot by Memory Lane led by SA Creative Stylist Emily and her team of incredible vendors. The shoot features a monochromatic colour palette, raw edges and a minimal feel with a hint of glamour, shot by Evka Weddings.
Upstairs Studio Venue
The demand for non-traditional weddings is nothing new to Nouba, which is why Memory Lane were eager to share one of their eccentric styled shoots with our readers. Photographed at Upstairs Studio, an edgy, revamped warehouse in SA, this was the perfect location to bring a modern and minimal love story to life. “Comprising of exposed brick, polished concrete floors, and lofty ceilings, the styling was inspired by sleek and contemporary romance and art,” explains Emily.
The Bride’s Calèche Look
Dressed in the Calèche Capri velvet crop, Riga pants and sheer Milano cape, Emily tells us she wanted the look to epitomise the anti-bride trend – edgy, contemporary, timeless and sophisticated. Modelled by Joanne Papayianis, the look felt elegant and effortless.
Flowers by Christina C Events
Speckled roses, preserved flowers, cotoneaster, hand sprayed anthuriums, glossy black foliages and unforgettable orchids made up the epic display of flowers. While Memory Lane and Christina C Events designed the shoot around a monochromatic colour palette to highlight all the textural and sculptural elements, a subtle pop of colour was also included for a bit of drama. “A pop of blue orchids were strategically included by Christina C, juxtaposing the moody palette as an eye-catching and dramatic contrast amidst the black and white,” explains Emily.
Modern-Glamour Tablescape
Memory Lane stuck a balance between glamour and modern minimalism with purposeful table styling. “The use of velvet linen, brushed matte cutlery, minimalistic stationery by Classic Ink Designs, and organically shaped crockery was aesthetically complemented by wild and moody foliages, intricate marble table tops, and sculptured Studio Billie candle centrepieces,” describes Emily.
