When teachers Georgia and Ben made the switch from colleagues to couple, their efforts to keep it a secret from their students only lasted until they were busted with the same classroom snacks! The loved-up couple tied the knot in a bright, chilled-out wedding that matched their bubbly personalities perfectly, with Figtree Wedding Photography along to capture the fun.

With their hearts set on a beachside setting, the couple chose to say their ‘I do’s’ at Hastings Point Headland, with a backdrop of the stunning sun-soaked Tweed Coast. Their fun and light-hearted ceremony was officiated by Lisa Laker, who aside from being an ace celebrant, also happens to be a parent at the school Georgia and Ben teach at. After dancing back down the aisle, the bridal party tucked straight into ice-cream from Wheel & Spoon Gelato’s cart before heading off with their photographer to chase the sunset.

Arctic Fox Styling used fresh whites, plenty of greenery and pops of colour to create a bright and vibrant feel for the day, with the help of Mrs Gibbons Flowers who created statement blooms in a mix of candy pink and tangerine. The bride shares the moment she knew they had found the perfect venue for partying the night away. “We went to a few Tweed Coast wedding trails to look at reception venues and loved Babalou the moment we walked inside. The walls were white, the roof had exposed timer beams and the windows looked out on the water. I could just picture our bright blooms on the timber tables and everyone dancing on the dance floor underneath the hanging festoon lights. We are so thrilled we chose Babalou because it looked beyond amazing on the night, the food was insane and the staff were absolutely amazing!”
