Karrissa & Daniel’s Modern-Meets-Boho Barn Wedding at Yandina Station

With a gorgeously converted barn, dramatic florals and some seriously stunning styling, Karrissa and Daniel’s wedding at Yandina Station has us swooning. Lensman Luke Middlemiss was on hand to capture all the magic of this glowing Sunshine Coast affair.

When Karrissa’s wedding stylist, Anna from Made to Match Events, introduced her to the wonderful world of Pinterest for the first time, there was really no turning back! After the initial inspiration overload, the bride settled on a natural and warm colour palette with a free-spirited vibe, with Anna helping her tie it altogether. For the ceremony, gorgeous arrangements of blooms and grasses from Mondo Floral Designs together with modern details from September Creative added pops of colour and worked harmoniously with the bohemian feel – and were all reused for the reception styling.

Terracotta tones were paired with natural timbers and greenery to adorn the lofty interior of the reception space, complimenting the original barn features. The bride shares, “The venue was amazing and really shaped the style of our wedding! We looked at quite a few wedding venues, and we knew Yandina was the one as soon as we got there. It looks over the beautiful property which really showcases what the Sunshine Coast has to offer in terms of rural-by-the-sea.”

Dan and his boys donned neutral chinos from Bell & Barnett, which they paired with hand-crafted wooden bow ties and leather suspenders from Wood & Beau. And who doesn’t love a groom with a top-knot?

Karrissa chose the Rosa dress from Grace Loves Lace, for a modern bridal look that with a boho vibe. Her girls donned deep red dressed by Kel-Leigh Couture, the bride shares – “It was so much fun going into the dress shop and trying on dresses with my bridesmaids. Every time we were there we were laughing and having a great time.”

When it came to her florist, Karissa had just one word to sum-up Mondo Floral Designs. “AMAZING!” We’re loving those dramatic dried palm leaves in contrast with the petal-perfect roses.

After searching high and low for a celebrant that felt like the ‘the one’, Karrissa had her heart firmly set on Suzanne Riley, so was disappointed to learn that she was fully booked for the year. As fate would have it, while popping in for a chop while on holiday, her hairdresser happened to mention Suzanne was her mum! Feeling all a bit serendipitous, she gave her fave celebrant a call on the way home and it just so happened that a rare cancellation meant a spot had opened up on her dates… and so it was meant to be.

Modern signage and paper goods from September Creative added a contemporary touch while keeping with the warm hues of the venue. The couple framed their ‘Daniel & Karrissa’ sign after the day, and hung it in their bedroom as a sweet keepsake.
